”Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
For by it the people of old received their commendation.
By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him” (Hebrews 11:1-3, 6).
We will lack faith in God to the extent we’re not reading Gods word; the Bible.
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ” (Romans 10:17).
But we may read the Bible and still lack faith due to giving ear also to false teachings. Test all things with the Bible. “…test everything; hold fast what is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21).
We may even read the Bible, understand it and trust in Jesus as our Savior and Lord, yet still lack great faith.
But if we have trusted in Jesus with “little faith,” we are as secure as those with great faith.
“…he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25).
Jesus said to those who trust him, “
I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God;believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also” (John 14:1-3).
“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live” (John 11:25).

Passengers in a ship.
Those who understand the ship’s excellent construction and who are acquainted with the excellent captain are most likely to have the greatest faith in their safety.
But the ignorant who have barely trusted the ship are equally secure. They may have only a little faith. But will arrive at the intended destination just as certainly as those with great faith.
